For the past 10 years, Emmanuel Episcopal Church has played a vital role in their community garden in Rockford, putting faith into action one harvest at a time. Through a strong partnership with the Jeremiah Development Garden, and a grant from Episcopal Charities, the church has helped transform a corner of the city into a place of nourishment, connection, and care. With 28 raised beds filled with peas, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green beans, the garden is thriving and feeding the community in more ways than one.
Two of the beds are even dedicated to composting, turning garden scraps and yard waste into rich, healthy soil. It's a beautiful example of creation care in practice. This garden is more than just a growing space. It is a sign of hope, hospitality, and God's abundance.
