The Shelter Care Luncheon was a meaningful and inspiring day, highlighted by guest speaker Joyce Williams and heartfelt testimonials from two of our Supportive Housing clients, who shared how Shelter Care’s programs have made a positive difference in their lives. We were grateful to welcome 223 guests and are pleased to share that the event raised $24,447 after expenses. Sunday, May 10 was the last day of Sunday school until fall. The kids have spent the last few weeks learning about the palms from Palm Sunday and how/why we use them for Ash Wednesday from Mother Gloria. With the help of Mr. Scott we burned dried palms to be used for Ash Wednesday in 2027. We finished learning about different crosses used in different denominations, by specific saints. The children then design and embellished their own cross.

Attention all high-school seniors! The application window for the Mary Kiefer Ward Scholarship is now open. For 23 years, Emmanuel Guild has awarded scholarships to high-school seniors planning to further their education. The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, May 18, to the church office. 5:30 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026 -- Rockford Rivets vs. Kalamazoo Growlers Gates open at 5:30. First pitch is at 6:35pm Emmanuel is going to the ballpark again this year! Like last year, we will be under the roof in the Iverson Painting Pavilion. Details will follow, but it will be all inclusive again this year AND everyone gets a free Rivets baseball cap!
