Emmanuel parishioners will worship with our Episcopal siblings at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at St. Anskar Episcopal Church, 4801 Spring Creek Road. The celebrant and preacher will be Bishop Paula Clark. Emmanuel will be closed to public worship that day. In 1976, at the 65th General Convention in Minneapolis, The Episcopal Church adopted a resolution affirming that homosexual people are children of God with a full and equal claim upon the church’s love, acceptance, and pastoral concern and care. The Shelter Care Luncheon was a meaningful and inspiring day, highlighted by guest speaker Joyce Williams and heartfelt testimonials from two of our Supportive Housing clients, who shared how Shelter Care’s programs have made a positive difference in their lives.
