In 1976, at the 65th General Convention in Minneapolis, The Episcopal Church adopted a resolution affirming that homosexual people are children of God with a full and equal claim upon the church’s love, acceptance, and pastoral concern and care.
Fifty years later, we return to Minneapolis to commemorate that milestone and reflect on the church’s ongoing journey toward LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Join us Sept. 3–5 for “Full & Equal: 50 Years in Pursuit of a Promise,” a three-day gathering of worship, learning, storytelling, and fellowship. Together, we will celebrate the progress of the last half-century and renew our commitment to the work that remains, taking back to our dioceses tools for advocacy and archiving.
Several Emmanuel parishioners are planning to attend. If interested in joining us, please contact Todd or MaryAnne.
