The Group is a continuation of a program developed by the National Episcopal Church to explore the intersection of race and faith. All are encouraged to join the journey this year as we increase our awareness and work to become agents of change in our church, communities, and the world. Friday, October 2, 2026 & Saturday, October 3, 2026 -- This fall’s Art Show will be a Sydney Lyon Baldwin Retrospective, taking place October 2 & 3, 2026 in the choir room at Emmanuel. This year’s show will be part of Fall Art Scene of the Rockford Area Arts Council. Please stay tuned for information about an Emmanuel Friends and Family Art Show, planned for April, 2027.

In 1976, at the 65th General Convention in Minneapolis, The Episcopal Church adopted a resolution affirming that homosexual people are children of God with a full and equal claim upon the church’s love, acceptance, and pastoral concern and care.
