From the Wardens
January 2019
The search for Emmanuel’s next rector is officially underway.
The Search Committee, led by co-chairs Phil James and Mary Kaull, was commissioned on Dec. 16. Dave Hatch will serve as secretary of the group and Bill Scarpaci as chaplain. The other members of the committee are Todd Burton, Matt Oakes, Cheryl Rogers, Theresa Sinks and Michael Smith. The committee already has met twice with Andrea Mysen, director of ministries for the Diocese of Chicago.
The next milestone in the search process will be to solicit input from the entire parish. Starting early in January, you’ll be invited to complete the Congregation Assessment Tool, or CAT, an online survey of parishioners’ energy and satisfaction that pinpoints areas of strength and can suggest future directions. Andrea Mysen will deliver results of the CAT to the Vestry and Search Committee around Feb. 1, and we’ll share them with the parish shortly thereafter.
Please plan to participate in the CAT. For those who don’t have access to a computer, we’ll make one or more available at church on the Sundays during the survey period. We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone in the parish to take part.
In the meantime, if you have questions about the search process or want to provide input to the Search Committee, please feel free to reach out to a member of the committee or to one of the wardens.
